Indmar Engines Fuel and Oil Recomendations.

Care and Feeding of Indmar Engines

We are just about ready to enter a new boating season.  There was a recent article in Boating Industry titled “Americans still confused about ethanol fuel choices.” A link to the article follows: http://boatingindustry.com/news/2017/03/17/survey-americans-still-confused-about-ethanol-fuel-choices/  To help ensure that your end user customers have a successful and trouble-free experience we are issuing this reminder regarding of the “care and feeding” of an Indmar Engine.

While it is always preferable to use fuel that does not contain alcohol, all current Indmar engines are designed to operate on E10 (10% maximum ethanol) fuel. Any fuel containing more than 10% ethanol is not only unacceptable to use but is also illegal to use in a boat.

When fuel containing alcohol is exposed to water, the alcohol in the fuel more readily mixes the water and actually creates a cloudy layer of water/alcohol mixture in the bottom of the fuel tank and a layer of gasoline on the top. Because the gasoline layer has had some or all of the alcohol removed from it, the remaining fuel will be of lower octane because alcohol in the fuel raises the octane. Since fuel is pulled from the bottom of the tank, the first liquid that the fuel pump is going to push into the engine’s fuel system is going to be a mixture of alcohol and water that will not burn. There are no chemical solutions that will reverse this condition. The tank will have to be drained and the contents disposed of and the fuel system, fuel lines, injectors, etc., will have to be flushed with clean fuel to get the alcohol/water solution out of the system.

Make sure that the customer understands which octane fuel the engine requires. Our engines, except for the 460 Model and the Supercharged 575 are designed to run on mid-range (89 octane) fuel. The 460 and SC575 are designed to run on Premium (91-93 octane) fuel. Using fuel with too low octane rating will reduce the performance in the engine and may cause catastrophic engine damage that is not covered by Indmar’s Limited Warranty. There are no substitutes for the correct octane fuel. Octane booster chemicals that are available at auto parts stores are not enough to raise 87 octane fuel to 89 octane or to raise 89 octane to 91.

When using fuel containing alcohol, we recommend that the customer buy fuel in smaller quantities that they will consume during a weekend of boating. Fuel degrades pretty quickly and the engine operates better on fresh fuel. Use fuel stabilizer to treat any remaining fuel to reduce the degradation. Recommend to the customer that they buy fuel from a busy station that sells lots of fuel. There will be a better chance that the fuel will be fresh.

Indmar recommends purchasing fuel from a supplier that advertises that the fuel meets “TOP TIER” specifications. This fuel has additives and detergents that will reduce the buildup of deposits in the engine. For a current list of gasoline retailers supplying TOP TIER gasoline, go to
www.toptiergas.com and click on LICENSED BRANDS.

Don’t run out of fuel! The fuel pump that supplies the high pressure fuel required by the engine is cooled and lubricated by the fuel that is being pumped. Any time the boat runs out of fuel, the pump is not being cooled and lubricated properly and sustains a certain amount of damage. If the fuel “runs dry’ a number of times, the damage to the pump will be cumulative, resulting in an expensive fuel pump failure.

If an engine fails and it is determined that the failure was due to improper fuel with too low of an octane rating, too much alcohol, or both; the failure will not be covered by the Indmar Limited Warranty.

The oil in the oil pan of the engine is the “life-blood” that protects internal engine components. The oil requirements are different for specific engines. The 360, 400 and 440 models use at minimum a synthetic blend or fully synthetic 5W30 meeting the API rating SN. The new 460 and the Super Charged 575 must use fully synthetic 15W50 meeting the API SN rating. The first oil change needs to be done at between 10 and 20 hours and every 75 hours or annually, whichever comes first, after that. If an engine fails and it is determined that the failure was due to improper maintenance or oil, the failure will not be covered by the Indmar Limited Warranty.

Skiers Coice Battery Selector Switch Recommended Usage

The 4 Position (Dual) Battery Switch - How to Choose Wisely
Apr 18, 2016 03:44 pm

Skier’s Choice installs a 4-position battery switch on any boat equipped with dual batteries.  Choosing the proper position can either be the start of a great day on the water, or the start of a bad day.  Here are a few tips to help you have a good day.

A good day on the water starts with the last time you used your boat.  We always recommend that both batteries be fully charged between each use to insure they can deliver the electrical demands required for each outing. That is why we install chargers on all dual battery models. Keeping both batteries charged will not only make them last longer, it will help ensure uniform performance for your electrical system each time you are on the water.   Simply plug the charger into an outlet when you return home, to keep the batteries fully charged for your next trip.    It does not matter which position the selector is in while charging.  Both batteries will charge until fully charged, then the charger will monitor them so that they stay topped off.

Proper Battery Installation - The proper battery cable configuration is important.  All of the boat’s Negative Grounding leads (engine, dash, stereo) need to be on the same battery.  This insures that everything is at the same ground potential also referred to as the ground plane.  The terminals need to be installed so the biggest is on the bottom and the smallest terminal is on the top.   The second battery should only have the battery charger leads and the Black 2/0 Ground strap that connects it to the first battery and the 2/0 Red positive battery lead that goes to the battery switch.

If the ground leads are not all put on the same battery, the ground plane difference between the batteries can wreak havoc on electronics in the boat (The difference in Ground plane is due to non- matching batteries, corrosion, loose connection, etc.). When the boat’s circuits have multiple ground planes, the electrical flow in the circuit can be erratic and the result can be electronics do not process signals correctly.  This can range from dash screens freezing up, to GPS signals being dropped and even to stereo systems acting crazy.  The result may be temporary, or it may damage or fail a component.

The 4 positions available on the battery switch are:   Off / 1 / 2 / 1&2  These choices indicate which battery is being used to power the boat and which battery is being charged by the engine’s alternator.  We recommend using only position 1 or 2 while boating.  The purpose of our recommendation is to utilize one primary battery for all operational needs, and have the other as a backup if the primary battery discharges.  This situation could occur if you run your accessories such as ballast or stereo for a long time, without running the boat.

Battery switch position 1&2 is available but not recommended as power will be drawn from both batteries and the alternator will have difficulties keeping both batteries charged simultaneously.   It can ruin your day on the water and potentially leave you in dangerous situations.   The only time you may need Position 1 & 2 would be in an emergency situation where you might be low on both batteries and need both to help start the boat.

NEVER CHANGE BATTERY SWITCH POSITIONS WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING – THIS WILL DAMAGE THE ALTERNATOR AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.  Also, in order to avoid damage to electronics, it is best to turn your key off completely when changing battery switch positions

In summary, to ensure trouble free time on the water, make sure you charge up between trips, know what battery position to choose, and power down before changing battery positions.

  • First and only emissions certified catalyzed supercharged inboard available in its segment
  • First and only emissions certified catalyzed supercharged inboard available in its segment
  • First to integrate ROUSH Performance supercharging technology into amarine engine, introducing ROUSH to the marine industry for the very first time
  • Most torque ever offered in a towboat
  • Designed non-traditional catalyst exhaust system that resulted in the most compact catalyst exhaust available and delivers the lowest emissions for a catalyzed supercharged engine in it’s segment
  • More fuel efficiency than comparable supercharged offerings in it’s segment
  • Innovative features benefit the end by making boating easier from operation to service

Miami Beach, Fla. Feb 12, 2015 – Indmar Marine Engines, the worlds largest privately held manufacturer of gasoline inboard marine engines was honored today for innovative achievement by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and Boating Writers International (BWI) at the 2015 Miami International Boat Show during the State of the Recreational Boating Industry Breakfast, held this morning at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Organized by the NMMA and judged by BWI, the award recognizes innovative distinction from other products currently being manufactured that benefit the marine industry and consumers; they must be cost-effective; offer practicality; and are available to consumers within 60 days of award receipt.

So what does the ROUSHCHarged Raptor 575 by Indmar have to offer that the others don’t?  For one, it is the first and only emissions certified catalyzed supercharged inboard available, the first to bring ROUSH Performance supercharging technology to the marine industry and it produces the most torque ever offered in a towboat; revolutionizing how boat builders will build new models from this point forward.

The innovative minds at Indmar spent more than 3-years, over 5,400 hours in extreme lab, durability and open water testing to deliver a breakthrough engine that will forever change the towed-watersports segment.  The all-new ROUSHCharged Raptor 575 provides innovative features that benefit the end user by making boating easier from operation to service and it’s backed with a 5-Year factory warranty.  It has more power that’s not only stronger, but also cleaner and more fuel-efficient than comparable supercharged offerings in its segment.

Indmar’s engineering team was able to marinize a block engineered for towing, Ford’s F-Series Super Duty® 6.2L.  However, in order to custom build a towsport specific inboard and adapt a block with overhead cams and dual plugs to the marine market, Indmar collaborated with wake and ski experts to design innovative towsport specific components to optimize, protect and adapt the engine to the rugged demands of watersports.

They also designed a superior non-traditional catalyst exhaust system that delivers the lowest emissions for a catalyzed supercharged engine in it’s segment, resulting in a safer, smoother and quieter boating experience. Then, they topped it off with high torque at low rpm ranges to provide torque where and when tow boats need it allowing for faster time to plane and increased loading.  But they didn’t stop there; they also added a suite of monitoring systems and intelligent components that make boating easier for the driver by constantly monitoring the driver’s conditions and driver input to optimize the performance and efficiency of the engine while adding an extra layer of protection.

2015 Indmar Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure

Checking Fluid – Shifting Portion – Red Dipstick

  • Start engine and let it come up to operating temperature (160F).
  • Shift transmission to forward and back to neutral then to reverse and back to neutral.
  • Shut engine off.
  • Within 30 seconds of engine shut down, remove the dipstick from the shifting portion of the transmission, wipe it clean and place the dipstick in the transmission but don’t thread it in.
  • Remove the dipstick and check the fluid level. The level should be between the two marks on the dipstick.
  • Adjust Fluid Level as needed.

NOTE: Once you have established the appropriate fluid level, it may be beneficial to let the transmission cool down (preferably overnight) and all of the fluid drain back. Pull the dipstick and wipe it off. Reinstall the dipstick but don’t thread it in. Remove the dipstick and mark a “Full Cold” level on the dipstick for ease of checking in the future. Don’t forget to point this out to the boat owner/operator.

New 24' 2015 Supra SE 550 Pulls Worlds

Recently the 2015 Supra SE 550 pulled the 2014 WWA Wakeboard Worlds Event in Fort Lauderdale Florida.  Descriptions such as "best wake ever ridden", "big and meaty", "better than a G and X-Star", not only came from our pro riders but many of the riders in attendance.  This wake was able to aid Supra riders especially, as we now sponsor 4 of the 5 major World Champions!!! Congrats Reed Hansen, Bec Gange, Cory Teunissen, and Sam Brown!   In addition to wake shape and size, everyone was shocked at the handling of the big 24.5' boat in the small course.  See below for a full rundown from staff at the event.

The boat literally had ZERO issues and of the five SC Factory representatives in attendance, none of us can recall a single negative comment. Riders allegiant to different boat manufacturers, hailing from different countries all had wonderful things to say about the SE550 wakes. And these wakes were achieved with nearly stock ballast levels. Even the judges and competition drivers chimed in on the unbelievable performance of the SE550 with the 575 6.2L Roush Supracharged Ford Raptor Engine by Indmar. The handling in the tight turns at the beginning and midway points of the runs on Mills Pond in Fort Lauderdale shined a big light on the impressive handling of this 24.5 foot Supra boat. We had many comments from competitors and spectators amazed at this agile boat’s size. The 2014 Rockstar WWA Wakeboard World Championships demonstrated, without a doubt, that passion meets precision in Supra boat!

There may be a big push right now in wakesurfing (and the SE is truly exceptional in that regard also) but there are still plenty of wakeboarders out there.  With Supra's outstanding performance on the world's biggest stage for wakeboarding and with Mastercraft anncouncing that they are withdrawing sponsorship of the Pro Tour, get ready for a shift in momentum.  Supra is about to be where it deserves, AT THE TOP!  Get Ready!

Supra’s SC450 builds off the success of its line-revamping SA model, a wide-bow board sports monster released last year to much acclaim. The two share many of the same standard features, with the main difference being a more traditional, pointed bow in the SC. The SC’s bow retains much of its sister ship’s deep, functional seating, but bow dip potential is almost completely nonexistent in the SC, no matter how much you weight it. The Roswell Pro Edge tower presides stoically over the lounge in speaker-hanging, board-storing glory.

The tower complements the SC’s muscle-car-like stature, which it owes to an extra-high freeboard. As you would expect, the gunwales are also exceptionally tall, making for a spray-free ride and safe feeling for all on board.

Textured vinyl in the lounge is double- and triple-stitched (nary a single-stitched seam is present) with Gore Tenara thread for a sharp look that’s bound to stand the test of time. On the hand-stitched dash, Supra’s Vision Touch screen is the boat’s onboard command center, controlling ballast, lighting, rider presets, driver presets, GPS, speed control, audio and even seat height and climate control, all within an intuitive interface. Shallow menus make navigation a snap, and Supra built in redundancy at the helm with billet-aluminum gauge bezels housing analog gauges and toggle switches that you can monitor with a glance. The analog Quick Bump Speed Stick sits alongside the steering wheel and nudges the speed up or down a 10th of a mile per hour so you never have to take your eyes off the water while you’re driving. Finally, performance is impressive for a deep 22-footer. As far as water sports, the SC delivers for both wakeboarding and wakesurfing with massive factory ballast and a hull shape purpose-built to displace water and create ramps. The boat handles well even under weight, and the deep-V hull slices through chop or double-ups with ease.

FLOW Surf System Set Up Tips

Go with the FLOW! - Optimizing your boat set-up

The Moomba Flow surf system’s simple & durable design allows the user to quickly change from wakeboarding to surfing with little or no ballast adjustment.  It also allows for easy changeovers between surfing on the port, or starboard side of the boat.  Here are a couple of quick tips that will help you get your boat set up properly with the Flow surf system:

1)      The flow system should be deployed on the opposite side that you plan to surf.  Deploy that tab only.  The tab on the side you are surfing should not be engaged (full UP position).

2)      Start with the boat evenly weighted side-to-side.  Flow is designed to allow a quick change-over from wakeboarding to surfing, and from starboard to port side surfing.  Weighting each side evenly makes the system versatile, and convenient.  Putting too much weight on the side you are surfing can negate the effect of the Flow system and cause the wakes to wash out.

3)      The boat should be weighted 60/40 (total weight, not % of ballast fill) back to front. If you put all of the weight in the back of the boat, the Flow system will not work well. One way to check this is to check the level of the swim platform in the water before surfing.  The platform should be right at water level or just slightly below, but still level.  If the platform is deep under water or at a downward angle, then there is likely too much weight in the rear of the boat (or too little weight in the front).

4)      Experiment with the 3 settings on Flow to optimize wakes for the load you are pushing and the skill of the surfer.  If you are using stock ballast,  beginners will probably do  best on the first (highest) setting, as it is a steeper wake with the best “push”. This wake is not as long, but Beginners can easily stay in this wake without much movement,   because it is steep.  Most riders will enjoy the middle setting, as it is a nice combination between a longer wake and a solid push.  The last, or lowest setting creates a longer wake that some advanced surfers will enjoy, because they have more room to do advanced tricks, but still have room to "pump" back in, if they fall out of the sweet-spot.

5)      The wakeplate should start at 50% when surfing in any of these positions. You can experiment slightly with the plate to get the cleanest wave possible.  Depending on the weight in the boat and the specific model, sometimes you may even have to run the plate all up or all down to get best wave.

As most experienced surfers have discovered, there is no perfect setting in wakesurfing. Ballast, people, depth of the water, wind, and even the amount of gas on board can change the size/shape of the wake. Be Flexible, and try new things when conditions change:

Here are a few extra customizing tips that you can experiment with:

1)      If you want to tweak the wakes a little bit,  shift one extra person to the side you are surfing.

2)      If you have a heavy load of people, or extra ballast on board, you probably need to use the lower settings on Flow.  The higher settings may cause spray on the face of the wake if you have the boat heavily weighted.

3)      If a quick changeover (wakeboard to surf, or side to side)  is not a priority, you can always go back to leaning the boat on rear corner, by loading it up heavier.  All of the  Moomba models are capable surf boats, with, or without a Surf enhancement device. The Flow system is designed to add convenience and quick change-overs.

Supra SC Wins Best Surf Wake At Souther Surf Fest!

Surf Travel Uncategorized on May 12, 2014 by alexbrost.

This year’s Southern Surf Fest, on Lake Lanier near Atlanta Georgia, took place over the weekend of May 2-4 and was a huge success with most inboard surf boat manufacturers and wake surfboard companies present.

The format if this event was simple – fill each boat with a variety of surfboards, and rotate groups of 3-4 people through each boat for two days straight.  Nearly every major surf boat company was represented. The list included Centurion, Malibu, Axis Wake, Supra, Moomba, Nautique, Tige, and MB Boats. The big Centurion FX44 and Nautique G23 were favorites going into the event, but it may be the Supra SC that turned the most heads and got the nod for best wake out of the field (or should we say river?).

The official results have yet to be published, but based in public opinion and personal experience, the Supra arguably produced the highest quality wake surf wake of any of the boats equipped with surf systems, but biggest remains a debate between Nautique G23 and Centurion Enzo FX44.

There were forty-some wake surfboards available for demo to the participants. Wakesurf board brands included iDOL SURFBOARDS, iSURF, Inland Surfer, Phase 5, Liquid Force, Soulcraft, Chaos, Wake Wood, Brigade, Evercarve, Walker Project, Day 1 Wake, Triple X, and LipSnap.  The favorite board amongst the smaller riders was definitely the iSURF F-Grom – every little shredder at the event was absolutely stoked on this board, and some of them were landing surf-style tricks on the F-Grom they had never completed before.

Many of the older kids, some of them well into their 50′s, claimed the iSurf Tonka Kahuna as the best board at the event.  There was even some verbal tussling at the end of the event for who would get to take home the iSURF Tonka Kahuna demo from the event. Luckily, they are readily available at idolsurf.com.
Honorable mention certainly goes to Wake Wood. These hand-crafted hollow wood core skim style wake surfboards received a lot of attention for their unique looks, and several people claimed The Big Easy and Sputnik to be their favorites of the event.
All in all, it was a fantastic event. With pro riders and coaches like Sean Cummings, Trevor Miller, and the Surf NASA crew on hand to coach riders, there was just as much fun and progression to be had. Thank you to everyone who organized and participated in this event! We’ll see you next year!

SURF CLEAN CUSTOM SHAPED WAVES WITH SUPRA SWELL

Clean custom shaped waves crash into convenience with the Swell, a next generation surf system from Supra Boats. The convenience of transferring side to side without moving ballast or people is only a small part of Supra Swell Surf System performance. Two sculpted surfer-inspired wave styles, improved handling and visibility as well as VISION Touch dash integration and customization will completely elevate your expectations of wake surfing. Precisely designed and built entirely of stainless steel, the Swell System is another example of passion meeting precision in Supra boats. Surf clean custom shaped waves with the Supra Swell, available on 2014 Supra SA and SC models only.

2 Distinct Wave Shapes
While others divert water for wake surfing, Supra shapes it to create clean scalable Swell waves. The new Swell Surf System cranks out two distinct waves, on either side, to satisfy a variety of surfing styles and skill levels. The Skim wave swells up smooth towards the front with a crest that forms on the backend finishing with a small break. The shape of this wave creates perfect push from top to bottom for a rider just looking to the throw the rope or a seasoned skim boarder who loves to spin. The Swell's Barrel wave challenges surf skills with an ocean-esque curl, progressive push and a steep drop for pipeline-style carves.

Improved Handling and Forward Visibility
Unlike early surf boats and one-system-fits-all surfing solutions, Swell was designed to improve the handling and forward visibility on specific Supra boat models even when weighted for surfing. With the Supra surf system engaged the boat's running attitude is nearly level regardless of weight distribution. The driver never loses sight of the horizon behind bow rise or has to deal with listed turns. And because the Swell System does not compromise handling at slow speeds, driver's enjoy a quick safe route back to a fallen surfer.

VISION Touch Integration for Quick Side-to-side Transfer
Precisely controlled through Supra's VISION Touch with customizable deployment, this system can adapt to each individual's surfing goals and boat set-up even on the fly. Choose your desired wave shape, the side you would like to ride and then fine tune your favorite waves. If you're looking to transfer, the Supra Swell Surf System allows you to transfer the wave from port to starboard in approximately 1.8 seconds.

Precise Next Generation Design and Stout Construction
The Swell Surf System utilizes high-speed rams to adjust 5/16-inch stainless steel blades laser cut and bent to control water turbulence off the rear of the boat's running surface. The specially designed trailing edge of these blades, or flaps as these types of elements are referred to in a fluid dynamics, create a vortex-effect behind the boat resulting in specific wave shapes. Different angels of deployment of the blades create custom effects in the water turbulence to swell-up Skim and Barrel waves. While first generation systems offer minimal to no customization without shifting people or ballast, the Swell Surf System wave can be easily tailored with 20-points of adjustment on either side. Swell blades benefit from a shot peen finish, a strengthening process commonly utilized in aeronautical construction, to increase the fatigue life of the piece. The Swell System is mounted and held together by a series of stainless steel through-bolts and stainless brackets for an extremely stable platform for wave making. The Swell Surf System is available on 2014 Supra SA and SC wake boat models only.

Elevate your expectations to a tough stainless steel surf system that produces custom waves in addition to convenient side to side transfer controlled at the driver's touch screen without compromising handing or forward visibility. The Supra Swell Surf System is pushing the shape of wake surfing beyond better.

Moomba's New Automatic Wake Plate

Are you aware that the Moomba wakeplate system has some new user-friendly functionality for 2014?  Moomba's wakeplate now has performance logic built into it, so that the driver does not have to adjust the plate as often.   Actually, truth be told, the wakeplate itself is the same.  The performance change is controlled by the new Digital Cruise Pro II system on the dash.

For starters, the wakeplate now automatically drops down to 100% deflection when you stop the boat.  This helps the boat plane off faster when you go to accelerate again.
If your speed control is off, then the plate re-sets to a 50% deflection when the boat accelerates faster than 15 mph.
If your speed control is on, then the plate re-sets to a 50% delfection when you accelerate past 50% of your SET speed.
For instance, if you are wakeboarding at a 22 mph set speed, then the wakeplate will automatically re-set at 11 mph.  If you are surfing at a 10 mph set speed, then it will reset at 5 mph.

The wakeplate function is not programmable, but it does have a memory.   If the driver adjusts the wakeplate while  operating the boat, say from 50% to 30%, then it will continue to re-set to 30% every time the boat accelerates, until the boat is keyed off.    Once the boat is keyed off, then on again, it automatically resets to the 50% deflection level once it crosses the speed adjustment threshold.

This new auto wakeplate functionality applies to all M Series Moomba models:  Mondo, Mobius LSV, and Mojo 2.5.  It is not available on the Outback V.

For a little background information on wakeplate performance, the wakeplate has two main functions.  1) In the down position, it helps the boat get on plane faster.  It does this by adding "Hook" to the back of the boat. Hook drives the nose of the boat down, and lifts the rear of the boat, resulting in faster acceleration.    2) Once the boat is on plane, the wakeplate give the user the ability to adjust the bow attitude of the boat.  This also changes the shape of the wakes.  Generally, when the wakeplate is up,  the bow is up (stern is down).  This tends to allow the wakes to come up to their maximum size, or steeper shaped on the ramp of the wake.     When the wakeplate is down, the bow is down (stern is lifted).  This tends to flatten or soften the wakes.  It is best to be familiar with all of the variations of wakeplate settings of each Moomba model, and how they can change with various speeds, ballast, and people in the boat.  if you ever experience a bouncing feeling in the bow (a condition called porpoising) a simple tap downward on the wakeplate will stop that.  If it does not stop it, then there is too much weight towards the stern of the boat.

Supra Boats Earn 8th Consecutive CSI Award

Supra is being recognized for outstanding customer satisfaction again this year with the 2013 Marine Industry CSI Award from NMMA.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) once again announced Supra Boats as a winner of the 2013 Marine Industry CSI Award. For 8 years in a row this luxury performance wake boat brand has achieved an excellent rating from the NMMA in customer satisfaction. Supra Boats was one of only three luxury water sports boat manufacturers who maintained 90% or higher customer satisfaction for the 2012/ 2013 reporting period and Supra is the only one of that exclusive group who has achieved this level of excellence for eight years consecutively. Supra Boats is extremely proud to be recognized for excellence in customer satisfaction, as part of NMMA’s Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) program.

Supra Boats was acknowledged during the annual Industry Breakfast at the2013 International Boat Builders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Marine Industry CSI Awards program honors participating manufacturers that actively measure customer satisfaction and pursue continuous improvement to better serve the customer. Award recipients achieved and maintained an independently-measured standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction over the past year, based on information provided by customers purchasing a new boat during the period between April 1, 2012 and March 31, 2013. Participating manufacturers must survey all new boat buyers during this period. For this reporting period, the program surveyed more than 50,000 consumers.

“We are extremely proud to receive this award eight years in a row, but the real reward, for us, is the strong customer relationships and loyalty the Supra brand enjoys,” explains Rick Tinker, President of Supra Boats. “We build an amazing boat and have a great group in place who pride themselves in working as a team to serve the customer completely.”

“Customer satisfaction is critical to the success and growth of the recreational boating industry and its CSI award recipients that set the bar on delivering an exceptional customer experience,” notes Robert Newsome, director of engineering standards for NMMA.  “We applaud and thank Supra Boats for their commitment to enhancing the boating lifestyle.”

NMMA launched its CSI program in 2001 to provide boat and engine manufacturers with an independently measured, cost-effective means of improving customer satisfaction in the boating industry. Since the program’s inception, more than 600,000 surveys have been sent out to new boat and engine customers, allowing participating manufacturers to monitor customer satisfaction on an ongoing basis, and to benchmark themselves against the industry and their competitors.

About NMMA: National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) is the leading association representing the recreational boating industry in North America. NMMA member companies produce more than 80 percent of the boats, engines, trailers, accessories and gear used by boaters and anglers throughout the U.S. and Canada. The association is dedicated to industry growth through programs in public policy advocacy, market statistics and research, product quality assurance and promotion of the boating lifestyle.

A Note From Steve Harbaugh About The New Supras

Midwest Supra friends,

I spent the weekend in Pleasant Prairie, WI at WWA Rockstar Worlds, presented by SUPRA !   Wow, what a great event.

Weather was perfect, riding conditions were perfect, and SUPRA boats was the SHOW !!  If you've never been to Worlds, it is an amazing event... and a 4-day SUPRA-FESTIVAL !!

The SA550 was a stud, as expected, and riders absolutely LOVED the wakes (even riders from other boat companies told me how much they liked the boat).

The new 2014 SC was also a Super-Star!   We used in for several of the classes, had one anchored right in front of the crowd in the water, and had one on the trailer on the shore.  I was looking forward to hearing comments about the boat, and boy, did I hear some comments.... and they were 100% positive!

Literally, I bet I had 100 people tell me how much they liked the boat!  The wakes, the "look", the interior, the overall styling.  I was very happy to hear the reactions.  Totally positive.   It was very heart warming.
