Supra’s SC450 builds off the success of its line-revamping SA model, a wide-bow board sports monster released last year to much acclaim. The two share many of the same standard features, with the main difference being a more traditional, pointed bow in the SC. The SC’s bow retains much of its sister ship’s deep, functional seating, but bow dip potential is almost completely nonexistent in the SC, no matter how much you weight it. The Roswell Pro Edge tower presides stoically over the lounge in speaker-hanging, board-storing glory.

The tower complements the SC’s muscle-car-like stature, which it owes to an extra-high freeboard. As you would expect, the gunwales are also exceptionally tall, making for a spray-free ride and safe feeling for all on board.

Textured vinyl in the lounge is double- and triple-stitched (nary a single-stitched seam is present) with Gore Tenara thread for a sharp look that’s bound to stand the test of time. On the hand-stitched dash, Supra’s Vision Touch screen is the boat’s onboard command center, controlling ballast, lighting, rider presets, driver presets, GPS, speed control, audio and even seat height and climate control, all within an intuitive interface. Shallow menus make navigation a snap, and Supra built in redundancy at the helm with billet-aluminum gauge bezels housing analog gauges and toggle switches that you can monitor with a glance. The analog Quick Bump Speed Stick sits alongside the steering wheel and nudges the speed up or down a 10th of a mile per hour so you never have to take your eyes off the water while you’re driving. Finally, performance is impressive for a deep 22-footer. As far as water sports, the SC delivers for both wakeboarding and wakesurfing with massive factory ballast and a hull shape purpose-built to displace water and create ramps. The boat handles well even under weight, and the deep-V hull slices through chop or double-ups with ease.
